We  travelled the UK in our search to find the UK Pasta Chef of the Year 2017 with five regional Heats held across the UK, culminating in a live final at the EPPS Show at Olympia, London.

Sponsored by Keck we have travelled the length and breadth of the country in our quest to find the Pasta Chef of the Year. From Bolognese in Bath to seafood in Scotland we have been wowed by the most incredible pasta recipes. The Finalists were all invited to London to create their recipes in front of a live audience at the EPPS Show in London. We are delighted to announce The Pasta Chef of The Year is:


  • Katarina Broadribb from Lemon & Soul Cookery School with Brisket and Wild Mushroom Ragu

The contestants were required to use the Keck pasta in the two categories:

Short Cut Pasta

  • Trivelli
  • Rigatoni

Long cut Pasta

  • Tagliatelli
  • Pappardelle

 Judges tasted each dish and chose the finalists based on how the dish showcases the pasta whilst considering commercial viability, overall composition, flavour and appeal.

The competition is held in conjunction with the existing quest for Pizza Chef of the Year and takes in five regional heats and then a Grand Final.

The Pasta Chef of the Year competition offers participants the chance to receive considerable publicity and prestige for them and their business, by winning a regional category and ultimately the overall title of Pasta Chef of the Year. In addition, there’s ample opportunity to network with colleagues and suppliers in the industry, test their creativity and innovation and showcase the winning pasta dishes on their menu.
