About Kingdom Cheese Company
Kingdom Cheese Company was founded in 1992 and is situated on the outskirts of Cowdenbeath, a former mining town in Fife, some 10 miles north of the Forth road bridge near Edinburgh.
Kingdom has grown rapidly since 2000, when we separated from its then sister company Lakeland Foods to concentrate purely on mozzarella and pizza cheese manufacture. They employ some 70 personel in manufacturing, distribution, administration, technical and NPD departments.
Late 2004 has seen Kingdom move back into soft cheese manufacture, as it became apparent that the UK's soft cheese manufacturing base was shrinking, not growing, as Companies merged their production facilities or shut down altogether.
Kingdom occupy a site manufacturing traditional mozzarella, organic mozzarella, string cheese, cheddar and a range of soft cheeses.
Cold storage and distribution are carried out from the site, and a recently opened new facility now contains the cheese shredding, grating, dicing and packing lines, thus freeing up space in the main building and allowing planned expansion for further manufacturing capability.
