Chefs are initially requested to submit written entries. These entries need to showcase their pizzas as the judges will use this information to select the pizzas that will go through to the final.
The written entries are submitted to the sponsor of that particular category. Judges will be looking for innovation whilst also considering flavours, taste, presentation and commercial viability.
The final is held at the European Pizza & Pasta Show and judged by celebrity chef, Theo Randall and a panel of experts.
The winners of each category and the Overall Pizza Chef of the Year Award winner is announced at the Awards Dinner, on the evening of 15th November. The Overall winner receives a cheque for £3,000, a trophy, plus considerable publicity. Individual category winners also receive trophies.
